Water. Fascia is the board that runs along your roofline behind the gutter, and it takes the brunt of Florida rain, humidity, and wind-driven storms. Once paint fails or a gutter overflows, the wood stays wet and rots — usually starting at the corners and behind the gutter where you cannot see it.
How do I know if my fascia needs repair?
Look for peeling paint, soft or dark wood, gaps where boards have pulled away, or gutters that have started to sag or pull loose. If the gutter is sagging, the fascia behind it is often the real problem. We can take a look and tell you honestly what needs doing.
Do you replace fascia before hurricane season?
That is exactly the time to do it. Sound fascia and secure trim hold up far better through a storm than rotted wood does. Getting it repaired before the September weather arrives is a lot easier than after.
